WATER TREATMENT APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To convert org. matter in water to a gaseous and ionic inorg. form at room temp. by the oxidative decomposition thereof at drastic speed by combining exciting rays such as ultraviolet rays or radiation and an oxidizing agent such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide or ozone. CONSTITUTION:The treated water 3 flowing in inlet piping 1 receives the addition of oxidizing agent 4 such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide or ozone from an oxidizing agent injection pipe 2 to be sufficiently mixed with the oxidizing agent 4 under stirring in a mixer and subsequently sent into a reactor 7 by a pump 6 to be sufficiently brought into contact with an exciting ray source such as Tc-99 emitting ultraviolet rays or radiation in an oxidative decomposition tank 9, and the org. matter in the treated water is oxidized to be decomposed into a gaseous component and an ion component. Next, hydrogen peroxide contained in water after the oxidative decomposition treatment is decomposed by a catalyst 10 in a catalytic decomposition tank 11 and the gaseous component is finally separated upwardly in a degassing tank 12 to be discharged from vent piping 13. The water from which the gaseous component is removed is supplied to a desalting tower through outlet piping 14 in order to remove the ion component.
