FACSIMILE EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To enable compatible confidential communication even between the facsimile equipments of different makers by executing confidential communication or polling communication by utilizing an identification code unifying the specification like a sub address. CONSTITUTION:An identification code detecting means 12 detects the sub address included in digital information inputted through a customer station line terminal equipment DSU 10, and a storage control means 11 distinguishes picture information included in the digital information according to the detected sub address and stores the information in a picture memory 13. When the sub address is inputted together with a subscriber number from a transmitting station in the case of confidentially transmitting picture information to a facsimile equipment 1-1, the sub address is detected by the identification code detecting means 12 and the picture information inputted together with the sub address is stored on the memory area of the picture memory 13 to be distinguished by the sub address. Thus, since the confidential communication is executed by utilizing the identification code unifying the specification like the sub address, the confidential communication can be executed even between the facsimile equipments of different makers.
