FAR INFRARED DRYER

PURPOSE:To avoid uneven drying and dry the coating material applied to furniture at a low temp. by providing a dryer having tunnel-like hollow parts, infrared reflectors on the inner peripheral surface of the hollow parts, far infrared heaters in the hollow parts and blowers for producing air circulation. CONSTITUTION:A series of consecutive tunnel-like hollow parts 12a-d are formed to make up four units A, B, C and D adapted for a preliminary drying, an intermediate drying, a finish drying and cooling, respectively, and a belt conveyor 26 is provided extending throughout these hollow parts 12a-d. An entrance part and an exit part for the material to be dried are provided at the opposite front and rear ends of the hollow parts to complete a drying device. Since infrared reflectors 16a-c are provided in the tunnel-like hollow parts 12a-c smoothly curved and nearly elliptical in cross section, respectively, the far infrared rays emitted from far infrared heaters 18a-c reflected randomly by the reflectors 16a-c to form a uniform far infrared zone in the hollow parts 12a-c. Since blowers 20a-c are provided in the hollow parts 12a-c with the elliptical cross section to produce air circulation along the inner peripheral parts of the hollow parts transversely to the longitudinal direction thereof, the temp. of the interior of the hollow parts 12a-c can be made uniform to prevent coating material from drying unevenly.
