PURPOSE:To obtain a freez picture with high picture quality by storing once a signal after movement adaptive signal processing in a frame memory and reading the processed signal from the frame memory repetitively. CONSTITUTION:When an interpolation scanning line signal subjected to the movement adaptive signal processing is written, the 1st field memory 11 stops the updating of a memory content by a signal S1 to apply read simply. After one field period when the signal S1 is inputted, the 2nd switch 16 is connected to the opposite position by using a signal S2. Further, the 2nd field memory 12 stops the updating of the memory content by using the signal S2 to apply read only simply. Thus, after the input of the signal S2, a scanning line signal of a field is outputted repetitively from the 1st field memory 11 and the interpolation scanning line signal subjected to the movement adaptive type signal processing in the field is outputted repetitively from the 2nd field memory 12. Thus, the display of the freez picture with high picture quality is attained.
