PURPOSE:To reduce the crosstalk produced from an adjacent track or the next adjacent track for a magnetic head containing a ferromagnetic thin metallic film having an inclination to a magnetic gap, a ferromagnetic oxide and a nonmagnetic material provided to the tape counter surface, by bending the interface between the ferromagnetic oxide and the nonmagnetic material. CONSTITUTION:A pair of magnetic core halves 11a and 11b are made of a ferromagnetic oxide, and ferromagnetic thin metallic films 12a and 12b are formed at a place near a magnetic gap (g) having a prescribed azimuth. The track width prescribing recess parts 11a' and 11b' are formed at both sides of the gap (g) on a tape counter surface 11. Then oxide glasses 13a and 13b and fused glass 14 serving as nonmagnetic materials are fused and filled into those parts 11a' and 11b'. The end faces of both parts 11a' and 11b' contain 11a1' and 11a2' and 11b2' of two steps in the direction different from the azimuth. This reduces the crosstalk produced from an adjacent track or the next adjacent track owing to the azimuth loss.
