APPARATUS FOR CLEANING PLATE-SHAPED BODY

PURPOSE:To automate surface wiping work and to enhance working efficiency by providing a means for holding roll-shaped cleaning cloth in a rotatable manner, a taking-up means and a means pressing the cleaning cloth to the surface of a fed and driven plate-shaped body. CONSTITUTION:Cleaning cloths 50 are taken up by cloth taking-up parts 40 through cloth holding parts 30, cleaning arms 20, guide rollers 60, drive rollers 43 and press rollers 44. Since both of holding shafts 31 and taking-up shafts 41 are rotationally driven in the direction taking up the cleaning cloths 50 by air motors, predetermined tension is applied to the cleaning cloths 50. When a plate-shaped body is fed by feed roll pairs 10..., the cleaning cloths 50 are pressed and energized to the upper and under surfaces of the plate-shaped body by the elastic members 21 of the cleaning arms 20... When the cleaning cloths 50 are contaminated, the drive rollers 43 are rotationally driven by predetermined quantity to collapse the balance of the cloth holding parts 30 and the cloth taking-up parts 40 to take up the cleaning cloths by the cloth taking-up parts 40 and the plate-shaped body is wipen off by the unused regions of the cleaning cloths 50.
