Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prepare a caldelilla wax excellent in the ability to solidify polar oils, improved in color and odor, and useful for preparing a cosmetic compsn. prevented from sweating and powdering even after the lapse of time by restricting acid number in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A candelilla wax having an acid number of 14-24 is heated together with a lower alcohol (e.g. ethanol) to remove the hot alcohol-soluble fraction and reduce the acid number to 9 or below.
