PURPOSE:To save the labor at the side of a banking organ and to improve the service performance by detecting a carry-over of a bankbook to inform the production of a new bankbook through an automatic teller machine, receiving and storing the information on the bankbook having the carry-over through a bankbook issuing device set separately and issuing a new bankbook where necessary items are recorded. CONSTITUTION:When a carry-over of a bankbook is detected by one of automatic teller machines 1a-1c, the bankbook carry-over information is produced and transmitted to a terminal controller 3 via a communication line 4. The controller 3 sends this information to an automatic bankbook issuing machine 2. While a customer puts the bankbook having a carry-over into a bankbook slot 11 of the machine 2. Then a new bankbook is sent out to a bankbook carrying path and an account number, a name, etc. are printed on the cover of the new bankbook by a printing head 17. The magnetic stripe data is written to the magnetic stripes on the new bankbook. Then this new bankbook is ejected through the slot 11.
