Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce the cost of transportation of earth and sand and restrain the temperature rise in a pit by supplying air inside the pit into a transport pipe connecting the inside of the pit to the outside, and utilizing the propulsion force of air to transport excavated earth and sand outside of the pit. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic motor 4 is actuated to rotate a cutter 3 and also a jack 5 is extended using an existing segment 11 as a scaffold so as to advance a shield propulsion device main body 1 and the natural ground is excavated by a cutter bit 3a. Earth and sand excavated is transported to a muddy water disposal device 18 through a sludge pipe 7 together with muddy water which is supplied through a mud transfer pipe 6. A compressor 15 is actuated at the same time as operation of the shield propulsion device 1 and high-temperature air inside an adit is taken into the compressor 15 through a suction pipe 16 and compressed air is discharged from the nozzle of a discharge pipe 17 into the sludge pipe 7 and utilized for the propulsion of the muddy water. The transporting capacity for the earth and sand excavated can thus be increased and a rise in the temperature inside a pit can be restrained and positive ventilation is realized.
