POCKET TYPE MOVING TERMINAL UNIT AND CITY NAVIGATION SYSTEM BY POCKET TYPE MOVING TERMINAL UNIT

PURPOSE:To allow the easy and rapid acquisition of exact and timely information freely anywhere during movement by providing means of moving terminal units consisting of data transmitting/receiving functions, memory media, prepaid cards and displays and the system consisting thereof. CONSTITUTION:Each terminal unit contains the data transmitting/receiving function 1 using an overall digital communication network and a signal reading function 2 to read the signal from the memory medium. The unit also contains a balance reading and rewriting function 3 from the prepaid card which is effective only within the same area. Further, the unit is provided with the display 5, on which the information stored in a CD-ROM, operation switches, menu key, etc., are projected. This system connects a repeater post 16 which has the radio signal transmission and reception functions to the terminal units disposed nearly at specified intervals and a center 17 which accumulates the information exclusive of the information stored in the CD-ROM, i.e., the momentarily changing information, etc., by a digital circuit and provides the information from the center 17 via the repeater post 16 to the terminal units according to the instructions from the terminal units.
