THERMAL FIXING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To save power consumption by providing plural belt-like heating bodies of a heat roller which are long in the axial direction and also separated at a prescribed interval in the circumferential direction of the roller on the outer circumferential surface and energizing only the heating body passing through a position opposite to a pressing roller by the timing that the heating body passes through the position. CONSTITUTION:As to the heat roller 21, plural belt-like heating bodies 29 which are long in the axial direction are formed so as to be arrayed in parallel at the prescribed interval in the circumferential direction on the outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical roller main body 27. And the heat roller 21 is rotated with being brought into contact with the pressing roller 22, and at this time, an individual electrode 41 which corresponds to the heating body 29 coming to the position opposite to the press ing roller 22 is brought into contact with a contact 26, so that only the heating body 29 is connected with a power souce 42 and generates heat. And when the contact state between the individual electrode 41 of the heating body 29 and the contact 26 is released by rotating the heat roller 21, energizing is stopped. That means, each heating body 29 successively generates the heat by the timing that it reaches the position opposite to the pressing roller 22.
