PURPOSE:To decrease floor response spectra by the effect of the oscillatory interference by connection of the peripheral part of a nuclear reactor made of a reinforced concrete construction and the outside circumferential part of a building made of steel work by connecting vibration control dampers and the oscillation energy absorbing effect of various dampers. CONSTITUTION:A nuclear reactor supporting wall 1a and fuel handling part 1b are made of the reinforced concrete construction and the outside circumferential part 2 of the building is made of the steel work. The connecting vibration control dampers 3 are installed at the contact points between the two constructions. The peripheral part 1 of the nuclear reactor made of the reinforced concrete construction and the outside circumferential part 2 of the building made of the steel work are respectively independently raised from a common foundation plate 5. The oscillation characteristics of the composite structure on the same foundation plate is thus greatly improved.
