Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent physical strength even in non-crosslinked state, exhibiting high water-swelling ratio and suitable for water-stopping material by compounding a specific chlorinated straight-chain ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer with a water-swelling resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding and homogeneously dispersing (A) 100 pts.wt. of a chlorinated straight-chain ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer having a chlorine content of 5-40wt.% and a crystallinity of 0.1-3Cal/g and produced by chlorinating a straight-chain ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer containing 2-40mol% of 3-12C alpha-olefins and (B) 10-400 pts.wt. of a water-swelling resin (e.g. crosslinked product of an alkali metal salt of a starch-acrylic acid graft polymer).
