APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUSLY CASTING ROUND CAST BILLET

PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a round cast billet having various diameters from one kind of a mold by setting heating means for strand and rotary mill for reducing diameter of a strand along drawing passage between strand solidified completing position and cutting machine setting position in continuous casting apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The strand 4 completing solidification after drawing out from the mold 1 is uniformly heated with the heating means 6 set along the drawing passage. Successively, the suitable rolling reduction is applied with the rotary mill 7, and after reducing the cast billet to the diameter according to this rolling reduction degree, this is cut with the cutting machine 8 set at the rear side thereof to produce the round cast billet M having the desired diameter and length. Therefore, the round cast billet having the various diameters can be produced from one kind of the mold.
