METHOD FOR DRYING RAW MATERIAL COAL FOR COKE OVEN AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To efficiently dry the subject raw material coal by continuously charging the raw material coal into a rotary dryer having heat transfer tubes, countercurrently passing a heating medium from one end side through the heat transfer tubes while flowing a carrier gas, indirectly heating the raw material coal and discharging the dried raw material coal from the other end. CONSTITUTION:A coke raw material coal is continuously charged from a raw material coal charging port 10 on one end side of a rotary dryer having heat transfer tubes 2 into the dryer and a heating medium is flowed from a heating medium inlet 8 on the discharging side of the rotary dryer to the charging side in one direction. The temperature of the heat transfer tubes is kept at a prescribed temperature or below to indirectly heat and dry the raw material coal. During the time, a carrier gas is passed from an air inlet 12 into the dryer to discharge evaporated water from the air outlet 13 to the outside of the dryer. The heated and dried coke raw material coal is then successively discharged from a dried raw material coal discharging port 9 to the outside of the dryer. Thereby, the coke raw material coal is efficiently dried.
