AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION METHOD FOR MEMORY CAPACITY

PURPOSE:To identify an expansion memory automatically. CONSTITUTION:With respect to the expansion memory boards where the storage area of the expansion memory is determined in advance and equipped with an integral multiple of memory capacity of this storage area, in an information processor capable of installing one of the expansion memory boards, the memory capacity of the expansion memory board is identified automatically by updating the writing to the head of the address by an identification code corresponding to the number of banks while switching banks successively when the extension memory is installed, reading the identification code written in the head address when the writing of the identification code written in the head address, and judging whether the read identification code corresponds to which expansion memory.
