Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide the inter-furnace shutting device which is provided in the inter-furnace connecting section of a continuous heat treating furnace for strips, is simple in construction and can obtain high tightness. CONSTITUTION:Receiving parts 4a, 4b to be pressed with the edges in the upper part and both sides on one side of a partition body in a shut state are provided in the upper part and on both sides in the inner side of the inter-furnace connection section 1 of the device having the partition body 3 vertically movable along a partition body guide 2 and a cam 6 engageable and disengageable with and from the partition body 1 is provided on the other surface side of the partition body in the shut state. This cam 6 is engaged with the partition body 1 in the shut state, by which the front edge of the partition body 1 can be brought into pressurized contact with the above-mentioned rest parts. A heat shielding plate 7 which can be opened and closed is provided in the inlet of the partition body guide 2.
