Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To control the operation of a print system by removing excess sheets from an order number and the number of sheets per group and by determining the number of sheets of the final set of each printed group which must be purged in order to sustain matching between the electronic image and the sheet. CONSTITUTION: Total number PT of prints to be programmed and document total to be scanned by a scanning section DT are delivered to an appropriate subtractor 250 and the number of prints PR is calculated for each group. The number of prints PR for each group and an order number M are delivered to a substractor 255 and a set number is calculated. When the PR and M can not be divided by an even number, a remainder R is obtained and a substractor 256 subtracts R from M to determine a purge number P indicative of the number of tabbed sheets to be purged from each set at the time of printing. A control section 7 blocks printing of an image onto a tabbed stock sheet being fed from a sheet feeder using the output signal from a counter 260, i.e., the purge number P.
