Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce defective parts due to the nonuniform plating of a joint by temporarily stopping information on the joint of a metallic strip in the continuous vacuum deposition plating method in which the temp. of the strip, which has been discharged from an annealing furnace and cooled, is controlled based on the information of a radiation thermometer. CONSTITUTION:A metallic strip S (steel strip) annealed in an annealing furnace 1 is introduced into a cooling chamber 2 and then into the seal roll chamber 3 of a vacuum deposition chamber. A gas blower 6 of the cooling chamber is controlled to a specified output by a computer 4, and the strip temp. is sensed by a radiation thermometer 5 set at the outlet of the cooling chamber and sent to the controller 4 to adjust the output of the blower 6. When the arrival of the strip is sensed by the computer 4, the feedback of the sensed information of the thermometer 5 is stopped at a predetermined position in front of a weld line, and feedback is resumed at a predetermined position at the rear of the weld line.
