INFORMATION GATHERING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To reduce the load on a central processing unit and improve the reliability of information gathering. CONSTITUTION:A CPU monitoring mechanism 12, a main storage monitoring mechanism 14, a bus monitoring mechanism 16, and a channel monitoring mechanism 18 are provided respectively for a CPU 11, a main storage 13, a system bus 15, and a channel 17 which are respective modules of a computer system, and those monitoring mechanisms gather information on the corresponding modules in parallel and inform the CPU 11 that the corresponding modules enter previously specified states when the modules enter the states. Therefore, information gathering processing in the electronic computer system can be decentralized to the monitoring mechanisms to reduce the load on the CPU 11.
