Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent production of slag on molten metal surface by parallelly arranging ceramic-made square cylindrical bodies assembled with heating means at its bottom wall surface to constitute a holding furnace for casting. CONSTITUTION:At least the furnace wall contacting with the molten metal C in the inner wall surface in the holding furnace A for casting, is constituted by parallelly arranging the ceramic-made square cylindrical bodies 4, and in the hollow part in the ceramic-made square cylindrical bodies constituting the bottom wall surface, the heating means of gas burner, electric heater, etc., is assembled so as to develop stirring effect with convection of the molten metal. By this method, the production of slag on the molten metal surface is prevented and heating cost can be drastically reduced.
