FABRICATION OF INSULATING COIL FOR ELECTRIC ROTATING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To enhance insulation characteristics by applying a wide mica tape regardless of the cross-sectional peripheral length of an insulating coil thereby reducing overlap of the tape. CONSTITUTION:At the linear part of an insulating coil, a plurality of wide mica tapes 3 are wound around a coil conductor 1 perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction thereof wherein respective mica tapes are half-lap wound by predetermined number of times thus forming a ground insulation layer. Consequently, a wide mica tape 3 can be wound regardless of the cross-sectional peripheral length of the insulation coil, weak point at the linear part of the insulating coil, i.e., lap winding of tape, can be reduced, and since the tape width of the insulating coil can be widened, lifetime of the insulating coil is prolonged resulting in an insulating coil having good insulation characteristics.
