Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To reduce the power penalty due to the deterioration of the extinction ratio by preventing the emission of the slight light owing to the bias current supplied constantly from 8 light emitting element end inhibiting completely the emission of light in the time bands except a due transmitting time band. CONSTITUTION:A transmission timing generating circuit 13 which is synchronous with the time slot allocated to a transmission part 11 generates a DC bias current control signal. Then the control signal is inputted to a DC bias current controller 14. The circuit 14 supplies the bias only when the bias current value of an LD driving circuit 16 is started in accordance with the start and stop states of transmission of the optical signal allocated to the part 11.
