Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide the title system designed to automatically and safely cut the selvages of a thick plate glass in high efficiency by combining a cutting device on an air table with a braking means, a positioning means and a sliding means and by putting a vibrational conveyor under an impactor. CONSTITUTION:A thick plate glass 4 having 8-22mm thickness with selvages is put on an air table 2 using e.g. an adsorptive hoist. This plate glass is then moved in X-direction through air delivery and the actuation of a moving conveyor 3, and stops when its front comes into contact with a positioning roller 10a. Then the plate glass 4 is moved in Y-direction and the positions for cutting wires are determined by positioning rollers 10b, 10c. The air delivery is then stopped, the rollers 10a, 10b, 10c are retracted or retreated, cutter heads 8, 8 on both sides of a traveling table 7 are moved along a guide 5 to specified position, thereby imparting the cutting wires. Then the cutting wires on the selvages of the glass plate 4 are moved to the upperside of an impactor 41 with an adsorptive pad 18, and when the impactor 41 is made to collide with the wires, the selvages are fallen through their own weight, thus glass cullet falling onto a vibrating conveyor 52.
