Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To drastically improve measuring accuracy of roll gap value by correcting measured distance approximate value near the min. value with an inclining angle and roll radius to obtain the roll gap. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam distance meters 1 are set in one pair in the shifting direction of a shifting body to measure an upper roll and a lower roll and also the center part and both end parts in the width direction of roll cavity. An inclining meter 3 is a sensor for detecting the inclining angle to vertical line of the shifting body M. The measurement is executed by shifting the jig before starting the casting, and the measured data are stored in a floppy disk and processed with data analyzing device 12. (i) At first, for the measured value of the laser beam distance meter 1 the min. value in (l1+l2) is obtd. This min. value is the roll gap measured approximate value. (ii) From min. value, it is decided that gap for any number of roll pair is measured. (iii) At the time of deciding the number of roll pair, the true value is calculated with correction to the measured approximate value.
