JOB CONTROL SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To prevent the mistake due to the selection of a job identifier and to improve the working efficiency of job control. CONSTITUTION:When an alarm is generated in a job suspended by a keyboard device for inputting characters, numerals and commands, the name of the job is stored in a heap area of a main memory as data and a list of the names of suspended jobs is automatically displayed on the area of a job control menu 16 arranged on the upper right part of a working area 17 in a display device 13. In the case of controlling menu items 16a displayed on the display device 13, various job control, i.e., execution on a foreground, execution on a background, forced end, etc., is executed by mouse buttons 14a to 14c functioned to a pointing device 14 while allowing each job display menu item 16a to correspond to a mouse cursor.
