DIGITAL MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To realize the recording/reproduction of high quality by recording the digital signal of two channels-two systems as the digital signal of four channels-one system at the time of recording and converting it into the digital signal of the two channels-two systems at the time of reproduction. CONSTITUTION:Analog-audio signals Ain-Din inputted from input terminals 1 and 41 are temporarily stored in buffer memories 46A-46D through digital signal processing circuits 4 and 44. The memories 46A-46D time base compress the digital signal and output it to a selector 47. The selector 47 time-divisionally multiplexes the digital signal of the two channels-two systems, generates the digital signal of 2X2 channels-one system and records it in a magnetic tape 9. At the time of reproduction, the digital signal is converted into the signal of the two channels-two systems by a processing opposite to that at the time of recording. Thus, a sampling frequency at the time of A/D and D/A conversion is improved and the number of quantization bits is increased, whereby the recording/reproduction of high quality can be realized.
