METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OPERATING SUITABILITY

PURPOSE:To apply the method and the device even to the membership function of not only a fuzzy set but also a crisp set. CONSTITUTION:A gauss memory 22 stores the function value (suitability) of one standard gauss function. A rule memory stores an average value to designate the membership function, standard deviation and identification code. According to the identification code, it is judged whether the set is the fuzzy set or the crisp set. In the case of the fuzzy set, the coordinate transformation of an input value is executed according to the average value and the standard deviation, the gauss memory 22 is accessed and the suitability is read out. In the case of the crisp set, the suitability of '1' or '0' is outputted according to whether the input value is larger than the average value or smaller than it.
