APPARATUS FOR HEATING SURFACE OF STEEL PIPE AND THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To uniformly execute heating to a steel pipe at a low cost and to detect reduced thickness part with simple operation by executing heating to the steel pipe with oval briquette coal heater at the time of detecting the reduced thickness condition of steel pipe with an infrared ray camera. CONSTITUTION:At the time of detecting the reduced thickness condition of steel pipe with the infrared ray camera, after heating the surface of steel pipe and raising the temp. thereof, the reduced thickness part is detected from change condition of surface temp. in the steel pipe with the infrared ray camera. In this apparatus, a guide device 1 providing a rail 11 and a ring gear 12 is fitted on periphery of the steel pipe P to be detected and a cam follower 35 arranged at shaking device 2 having a gear mutually engaged with the ring gear 12 on the rail 11 is locked, and by driving a servo motor 4, the shaking device 2 is shaked along the guide device 1, and with the oval briquette coal heater 5 fitted this, the surface of steel pipe P is heated. After completing the heating, the oval briquette coal heater 5 is turned over with a turn-over mechanism 6, and retreated and picture of the surface temp. of steel pipe P is taken with the infrared ray camera, and the reduced thickness of steel pipe can be detected without using expensive electric powder.
