Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To perform automatic stable liquid crystal display without being influenced by indoor illumination. CONSTITUTION:An illumination level from a Cds 1 of a photoconductive element located in the vicinity of a liquid crystal display part 104 is outputted to a microcomputer 105 by means of an illumination measuring means 2 so as to detect illumination at which the liquid display part 104 is illuminated. The microcomputer 105 controls a quantity of light regulating means 3 according to an illumination level to automatically light a back light 106 being an auxiliary light source for the liquid crystal display part 104 and regulate a quantity of light, whereby clear liquid crystal display is effected according to the change of indoor illumination throughout a day.
