Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide the subject artificial stone having transparency similar to natural stone and capable of being readily colored by dispersing an inorganic filler and heat-resistant colored synthetic resin fibers in a matrix comprising polymethyl methacrylate resin in a specific wt. ratio. CONSTITUTION:(B) 100-300 pts.wt. of an inorganic filler (e.g. aluminum hydroxide) and (C) 0.5-40 pts.wt. of heat-resistant colored synthetic resin fibers having a fiber diameter of 10-50mu and a fiber length of 0.2-2mm (e.g. colored nylon fibers) are dispersed in 100 pts.wt. of a matrix comprising polymethyl methacrylate resin to prepare a thermoplastic synthetic resin artificial stone, which is suitably employed for the top plates of lavatory dressing tables, the counter tops of system kitchens, etc.
