FILE UPDATING METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC PRINTING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To maintain the completeness of a file by copying file management update held in an internal system RAM to a nonvolatile memory and transferring it to an external disk when a queue reaches specific size. CONSTITUTION: To maintain an allocation table in a system (random access) memory 61 in a current state, file management update is inputted. This file management update is copied to the nonvolatile memory 63 and a copy of the file management update in the memory 63 is rearranged in a queue having specific order. When the queue of the file management update in the memory 63 reaches specific level, a current allocation table in the RAM 61 is written to a volume allocation table on a disk to update it. Then the file management file is erased from the nonvolatile memory 63.
