VOICE PROCESSOR

PURPOSE:To eliminate strict noise counter-measures in the case of data transmission and to reduce the cost of the device by correcting digital data read out of a semiconductor memory according to an error correction code and expanding the data. CONSTITUTION:An error correction encoding part 14 adds the error correction code to digital data compressed at a data compression part 5. An error correction decoding part 15 corrects the error of the digital data. For the error correction, the error is detected according to the error correction code added to the digital data read out of the semiconductor memory 7. Therefore, the data can securely be restored to original data even if a read error occurs because the semiconductor memory 7 does not have high quality or if the influence of a noise invades in the case of the transmission of data from the external semiconductor memory 7. The digital data whose error is thus corrected is expanded by a data expansion part 9.
