CONSTITUTION:Formic acid, an ester thereof (e.g. methyl ester, ethyl ester or an amide (e.g. formamide, dimethyl formamide) with hydrazine in an organic solvent (preferably a solvent having a boiling point of >=130 deg.C, e.g. xylene, mesitylene, chlorobenzene preferably at 130-170 deg.C for 2-20hr to provide the objective compound.
