Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a picture display device which is used in the display of an OA equipment, a pocket TV, or the view finder of a video camera, etc. CONSTITUTION:A picture element electrode 2c arranged in a two-dimensional matrix state and a thin film transistor connected to the electrode 2c are provided on an insulating substrate 1 such as a quartz substrate, and the electrode 2c is constituted of the same semiconductor thin film 2 as the active layer 2a of the thin film transistor. Then, an interlayer insulating film 5 and a vertical signal line 6 are formed on the electrode 2c and the thin film transistor, and the film 5 under the signal line 6 is made thicker than in the other part.
