Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To produce pitch for carbon fiber which is stabilized in the content of toluene-insolubles and the softening point by subjecting petroleum pitch to a simple treatment. CONSTITUTION:Pitch for carbon fiber is produced by distilling a catalyst-free predistilled residue oil on a centrifugal molecular distiller and maintaining the distillate at 200 to 350 deg.C under a pressure of 0.1 to 1.0mmHg.
