COLOR FILTER AND ITS MANUFACTURE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To obtain the color filter which is reduced in variance in the thickness of an organic film, deficiency of flatness, position shift, and influence of foreign matter sticked by liquefying the organic film again with an organic solvent, spreading the film horizontally, and flattening its unevenness. CONSTITUTION:On a glass substrate 12, the black film of an organic material is dried at low temperature where the setting of epoxy resin can be suppressed to form a lattice-shaped black matrix 13. transparent colored layers 14 of red, green, and blue are printed by the colors and dried in the black matrix 3. In this vapor-phase flattening process, gas of the vaporized organic agent is absorbed by the black matrix 13 and transparent colored layers 14. When the organic film begins to be liquefied by absorbing the gas, the film has flowability to flow in the unevenness and recessed parts between color gaps, thereby flattening the black matrix 13 and transparent colored layers 14. Then the black matrix 13 and transparent colored layers 14 set while flattened to obtain a flat surface which is easily coated with a transparent protection film 15 and a transparent conductive film made of organic films.
