SPRINKLER FIRE FACILITY

PURPOSE:To stop a fire extinguishing agent from being discharged wastefully so as to reduce damage caused by the loss of water by providing within the rise portion of secondary piping a closing means for closing an opening means which is open to atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The rise portion 37 of the main pipe 51 of secondary piping 5 is formed into the shape of a rise tube which first rises and then falls, and the rise portion 37 is open to atmosphere via a drain pipe 39. An orifice 38 useful in filling the secondary piping 5 with a fire extinguishing agent without applying pressure is provided near the top portion of the rise portion 37 and a check valve 61 which allows the fire extinguishing agent to flow within the rise portion 37 in the direction in which the rise portion 37 rises but which stops the agent from flowing toward the main pipe 51 is connected to the primary side of the orifice 38. When each sprinkler head 4 is mechanically opened, the fire extinguishing agent 37 retained in the rise portion 37 is discharged toward each splinkler head 4 but the portion of the fire extinguishing agent which is located above the check valve 61 is not discharged but remains in the rise portion 37 and stops a fire extinguishing agent inside the secondary piping 5 from being sucked toward each head 4 by siphon phenomenon and the fire- extinguishing agent in the secondary piping 5 is not discharged when the agent in the rise portion 37 is discharged.
