FRESH-AIR SUCTION PATH OF AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE: To secure a flow separator that operates at high efficiency in a fresh- air intake duct which is no need to change a flowing direction of air and designed so as to be suitable for use in this nearly rectilinearly extending intake duct. CONSTITUTION: A fresh-air intake duct 1 stored in a solid airspace lying between a bonnet and a windshield is covered with a coarse dust checking inlet grill 2, and this intake duct 1 has two sidewalls 3 and 4 and a duct bottom part 5 connecting both the undersides of these sidewalls to each other, and two exhaust holes 6 and 7 of the separated water lead to the outside from this duct bottom part 5. Two baffles 8 and 9 formed into grills 10 and 11 make up a waveform 12 in front of these sidewalls 3 and 4, and these baffles are installed so as to have a wave height of about 4 mm and to make it extend at an angle of 45 deg. looking in the flowing direction (an arrow A) of air. Most of aqueous inflow moisture parts are stuck fast to the duct bottom part 5 and both of bulkheads, and a part and such water as entered in time of stoppage is exhausted to a hole 6, and the moisture stucked to a terminal part of the duct 1 is exhusted to the outside through an exhaust hole 7, respectively.
