Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To perform clamping and AGC stably in a searching mode by inserting a reference frequency in a reproducing RF signal at the time of reproducing the video signals recorded after frequency modulation. CONSTITUTION:Reproduction tape speed is detected by a detection means 23. Reference frequency generation circuits 25 and 26 composed of variable frequency oscillation circuits are controlled by the output of this detection means 23, and reproduction frequency signals of the reference frequency signal at the time of reproduction tape speed is generated. Signals from these reference frequency generation circuits 25 and 26 are switched and inserted to reproduction RF signals, and the frequency is demodulated. The level of the reproduction video signal is controlled with the demodulated output level as a reference level.
