IMMUNOASSAY DEVICE AND MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To immunologically detect the presence of an analyte in a liquid sample by arranging a fixed substance in at least one zone of a suction film, making the substance react, and combining it with a ligand-receptor complex. CONSTITUTION: On a substrate 20, the suction film 16, a storage pad 10, a filter element 12, and an inspection indicator area 18 are arranged containing the fixed substrate, e.g. ligand, which is recombined with any singular ligand- receptor complex included in the liquid sample. Then the sample is added to a reagent and made to react to produce the ligand-receptor complex, and this sample is brought into contact with the pad 10 and moved thorugh the element 12 to trap unnecessary components present in the sample, so that it move in the suction film 16. If there is the labelled analyte in the sample in this stage, it is recombined with the ligand-receptor complex in the indicator area 18 to generate a signal which can be detected with the naked eye, so the presence of the analyte in the sample can be detected imunologically.
