MEASURING AND DETECTING APPARATUS FOR GROOVE HUMP OF PIPE

PURPOSE:To efficiently detect a groove hump which occurs in a circular groove formed on an inner peripheral surface of a metal pipe while failure in measurement and detection is prevented. CONSTITUTION:A pipe wall part of a circular groove 3 on an inner periphery of a metal pipe 1 is interposed from inside and outside the pipe between a pair of wheels 4,5. While a distance between both wheels 4,5 is measured by a laser sensor 7, the metal pipe 1 is rotated around its axial center. If a groove hump exists, the wheel 4 on the side of the inner periphery is pushed out thereby increasing the distance between both wheels 4,5 so that whether or not the humb exists can be sensed.
