ELECTRIFYING MEMBER

PURPOSE:To solve problems such as sheet resistance unevenness of a surface layer, generation of discharge dielectric breakdown (pinhole) at an uneven part, and occurrence of electrification failure such as electrification unevenness caused by uneven dispersion and aggregation of electrically conductive particles, and to easily massproduce at a high yield materials of either long length or large size. CONSTITUTION:The electrifying member is provided in a contact electrifying device electrifying the surface of the body to be electrified by bringing the electrifying member (electrifying roll) 2 into contact with the body to be electrified (photosensitive drum). At least a material layer 2c of the electrifying member 2 where it s brought into contact with the body to be electrified 1 is a dispersed layer of the electrically conductive particles that have been surface treated with an organic compound.
