GRINDING WHEEL

PURPOSE:To automatically eliminate blinding and clogging without suspending grinding and to improve the operation rate of a grinding machine, in the case of blinding and clogging being generated. CONSTITUTION:The shape of a grinding sheel is held with a lot of abrasive grains 1 being held with their dispersion by a binder 3. In each abrasive grain 1, a shape memory alloy 2 which is bent in a U shape at a room temperature and whose bent part is extended on getting at the specified temperature is sealed. On getting at the specified temperature with the shape memory alloy 2 being heated by the friction heat generated on the grinding wheel surface at grinding time, the shape memory alloy 2 is deformed to crush the abrasive grain 1 A new cutting edge is generated by the crush of the abrasive grain 1 thereon, also, a chip 5 is dropped with its peeling out of the grinding wheel surface.
