Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To properly extract the integrated features of an input image. CONSTITUTION:A broad classification collation part 3 and a detailed classification collation part 5 are provided with corresponding feature extraction parts 2 and 4 respectively. The feature extraction part 2 calculates the density of black picture elements in an image segmented in the segmentation part 1, and in accordance with the calculated density, it sets a feature extraction observation size to obtain feature data. The feature extraction part 4 calculates feature data from a feature extraction observation size which is smaller than the one set in advance.
