Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To suppress a decrease in the light beam transmissivity of a color filter due to pigment particles and to improve the contrast ratio of the liquid crystal display, etc., by the suppression of the decrease in the light beam transmissivity. CONSTITUTION:This color filter is formed by forming a transparent colored layer 14 on a transparent substrate 11 by dispersing the pigment particles 15a in a transparent resin base material 15. Particulates of transparent resin which is colored with dye are used as said pigment particles 15a. Pigment particles having dye layers for color correction nearby the surfaces may be used instead. The dye layers for color correction are obtained by chemically coupling dye molecules with the surfaces of pigment particles, coloring the surfaces of pigment particles, or forming resin layers dyed in a correction color.
