FOLDING FAN HAVING INSECTICIDAL EFFECT

PURPOSE:To obtain an insecticidal implement which has excellent convenience and portability and consists of natural components having the extremely high safety to the human body by incorporating 'hiba' (Thujopsis dolabrata Sieb et Zucc.) oil as an effective insecticidal component. CONSTITUTION:The 'hiba' oil to be used for the folding fan having the insecticidal effect is the refined oil obtd. by steam distillation or dry distillation from the waste material and sawdust of AOMORI 'hiba' and contains the effective components, such as hinokitiol (beta-thujapricin) and citronellol having an insecticidal property, and trimethylnaphthalene, etc., having an antcidal effect. A method of directly impregnating or kneading the 'hiba' oil into the aggregate and paper material of the folding fan and a method of incorporating the 'hiba' oil into an adhesive for bonding the paper material are properly selectable as the method of adding this 'hiba' oil. The effect thereof is exhibited by contacting and volatiliging and is maintained over a long period of time.
