PURPOSE:To provide a photosensitive material capable of producing multicolor images with high resolving power and excellent gradation, prepd. by forming at least two photosensitive layers having different degrees of wavelength absorption on a base material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material is prepd. by forming a photosensitive layer 2, a separating layer 4 (e.g. PVA resin layer) and a photosensitive layer 3 which develops a color different from that of the layer 2, on a base material 1 by the use of photochromic photosensitive materials which consist of combinations of a spiropyran compd. and a medium and develop a variety of colors [e.g. cyan color material obtd. by dispersing and dissolving 6-nitro-1'-3',3'-trimethylspiro[2H-1-benzopyran-2,2'-indoline] in polystyrene. magenta color material obtd. by dispersing and dissolving the above spiropyran in alkylphenol resin and yellow color material obtd. by dispersing and dissolving 1',3-dimethyl-6-nitrospiro {2H-1-benzopyran-2,2'-[2H]-pyridine} in cellulose acetate].
