FIXING DEVICE FOR IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a frame supporting a pressurizing roll and a heating roll and to carry out the opening/closing of the upper part frame in two stages in a heating roll system fixing device. CONSTITUTION:The upper part frame 15 supporting the heating roll 2 of the fixing device 1 is provided so as to be opened/closed with respect to the lower part frame 10 supporting the pressurizing roll 5 via a supporting shaft 16. The roll 5 is supported on the lower frame 10 through a pressing lever 12. Nipping pressure between both rolls of the rolls 2 and 5 is set by a spring 20 arranged between the lever 12 and the rear part arm 18 of the upper part frame 15. In a state where a cover is attached to the upper part frame 15, the cover has a role as a stopper, and only a little gap is obtained between both rolls. However, in the state where the cover is removed, the upper part frame can be largely opened.
