Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To manufacture a material which is surely and firmly combined at a newly generated interface with good productivity by extruding a composite billet composed of copper or a copper alloy and a high melting point metal or its alloy by hydrothermal pressure. CONSTITUTION:Copper or a copper alloy is used as a core 2, a pipe material of high melting point metal such as Mo, W, etc., or their alloys are clad on the core as an outer material 3, and a sheath material 4 is fitted on the outside of the outer material 3 to give a composite billet 1. Lid materials are welded to its front and rear and vacuum drawing is carried out. Then, the billet 1 is heated, charged in the container 10 of a hot static pressing extrusion apparatus 9, and extrude by hot static pressing. Each material is deformed and joined each other by the extrusion working. After that, the sheath 4 of an intermediate material 16 is removed and thus a long conducitve material coated with the high melting point metal can be obtained.
